Has anybody requested to actually have "Out of Office" notices come thru? We just had an instance where the Engineer was out for two weeks and we didn't know it because their "OOO" message didn't come thru via Team.
In the 2.7 release we'll have some simple filtering implemented to keep most auto-reply emails out of RFI responses. There are multiple other reasons to want to prune out unwanted responses though so I'll leave this one as "Likely" for now.
Jim, attached is the text from the email.
Lori, the difficulty is that an auto-response IS an email and only a contextual understanding allows someone to know it’s an auto-response, so it isn’t easy for software to filter this out. We are utilizing machine learning technology for filtering of the email responses so some failure rate is to be expected (such as this). Can you share the text of the out-of-office message so that we can look at possibly improving the heuristics? A possible solution would be to allow a project editor to remove select responses.
Jim
Having an "Out of Office" auto reply pop up as an RFI Response is a HUGE issue, and must be addressed! This is not just for our benefit here at KA, but it impacts the whole project! This issue needs to be fixed!!!
