We are having a lot of push back from Architects receiving too many notifications because of one additional approver not approving/rejecting. The Architect cannot finalize the Submittal until all the additional approvers have commented. It would be very helpful if we could have a hierarchy on the approvers:
1. Structural Jane Doe - Due Date - May 11
2. Electrical John Smith - Due Date - May 13
3. Architect (primary) Alex Smith - Due Date - May 15
When the Submittal is sent for approval, all will receive separate emails with their due dates. In the example above, John Smith cannot approve/reject until Jane Doe does and on May 12, Jane gets an overdue email. Once Jane Doe approves/rejects, both John Smith and Alex Smith get a notification with Jane Doe's comment. Then the ball in court moves to John Smith and so on.
As of now, our primary consultant is being tasked with getting all the additional approvers to update the submittal, but that's not their job and they are receiving all of the notifications.

3+ years....Not even a "future consideration" yet we have been complaining about this for 4 years now.

Almost 1 year later from my last comment and still no updates, not even if it's planned. We need this much more than ANY of the modules being created.
Can we pay extra to have this customization done? If so, please contact me with a quote. We have more and more projects moving to Procore.

We have another suggestion that we should be able to make additional approvers required (right now the final approver can trump everyone else and approve it even if additional approvers haven't.) But at a team workshop this week, it would be even better if they could be required and hierarchical so that it moves through approvers and sends notifications. I think it should be flexible so users can designate approver order, with the final approver changing the status to Approved, but not unless all required approvals have.
