We desperately need this. When we have multiple consultants on a Submittal (Electrical, Structural, Mechanical) we cannot force the "primary" approver to be in charge of ensuring everyone else replies by the due date as they do not work at the same firm.
We need to be able to set a hierarchy as you would with DocuSign/AdobeSign:
Approver 1: Due Date mm/yy
Approver 2: Due Date mm/yy
etc
Approver 2 would not get an email or a notification until Approver 1 replies. If the due date passes for Approver 1, only they get the notifications. Once Approver 1 replies, email is sent to Approver 2 with a due date. And so on.
Every time I show how to enter a Submittal to our users, this is the #1 complaint.

1+ years later and this is STILL our #1 complaint. This may be considered the difference maker for many project coordinators when it come to selecting their preferred document management software.
A submittal should not be in 1 consultants full control if MULTIPLE consultants are being asked to comment. Currently, if I were to assign a submittal to 4 consultants, 1 of those 4 are prioritized. If the priortized consultant simply comments before the other three, the submittal is placed back onto the contractors court giving the other three consultants no opportunity to comment. This is not how it should work. Priority consultants should be placed LAST in the workflow and should only make comments AFTER all secondary consultants have made their comments.
