The functionality of uploading a new version of a document in submittals is nice, but you have to click on the pencil to get the popup which isn't intuitive for external users. It would be great if there was an upload icon (the arrow pointing upward into a cloud) right next to the download icon beside each attachment.

I'd say the chances of a consultant uploading with the same file name is slim. They will typically add a date and/or text like Reviewed or something. Happy to see if others comment.

As Mercedes points out, you can drag/drop the same filename onto the Submittal and we'll pick up that it's a new version as well. We used the 'edit' icon to be consistent with other areas of the system. The edit icon is used for changing items, while the upload icon is typically reserved for net-new uploads.
Marking this one as in review as we're interested in other opinions on how this works.

If you use the existing upload button or drag and drop a file, so long as it has the same file name, it will upload as a version. IT works just like the Documents module.
