When I submit an RFI or Submittal, and it has to go through multiple parties for approval, there is no sequence or chain of command as far as who has to review/approve the RFI or Submittal. On our job, everything must go through the lead Architect at first. Lets just say the RFI or Submittal had to do with Structural, the chain of command should be such that the Architect Reviews it first, and then the Structural Engineer must review it, and then once BOTH of them approve it, it should get released back to me. I've had some instances where just the Structural Engineer reviewed it, so I closed it out, but then the architect mentioned he never had a chance to review....So I had to reopen it and wait on the archtiect to review.
