We have Submittals where we need to require an Engineer's approval before the Architect approves it. As it stands now, when we send it for review, but the architect and engineer get notifications that it's in their court. We try to tell the architects to wait until the additional approvers are finished, but it relies on their discipline not to jump the gun and move it the approved state before then engineer's had a chance to look at it.

Dear Viewpoint Suggestion Box contributor;
We at Viewpoint sincerely thank you for your contribution to Suggestion Box on how we can improve Viewpoint products. Glad to see this is likely, but when? This is important. Sequential approval would be great, but giving us a required so the Submittal can't move to the next state until all the required approvers have approved seems like a quick way to move toward that. Thanks.
See suggestion VPT-I-33 as well. Giving us a workflow to route approvers in the proper order (see sequence used in HQ Reviewer Groups in Vista) and the ability to make those approvers required would be huge. Thanks.
Here's an idea on how to architect this. Give us a checkbox for each additional approver that makes them required if checked. When the Primary Approver goes do approve it, do a check to make sure any required approvers have approved it (whatever trigger puts the green checkbox in front of their name when they've approved.) If all required approvers are not checked, do not allow the primary approver to Approve it. Some message about "Cannot Final approve until all required add'l approvers are complete." Thanks!
