For some projects, the submittal approval workflow involves several different people in different companies. For example, a construction manager or owner may need to approve a submittal after the architect has approved it.
Currently, we can add additional approvers to the submittal, however if any of the “approvers” (in my example, architect, construction manager, owner) mark the submittal as approved, the remaining approvers can take no further action.
It would be best if we could have the submittal flow through to the various people to sign off before it is finally approved.

Also multiple approvers should have access to the same drop downs as the APPROVER. As it is now, additional approvers, reviewers etc. are able to do the same thing as the initial one on the list.

We just switched to using this software... and this seems like it should've been fixed months ago. It is a no brainer to have everyone approve or reject before it goes to next state. Otherwise what is the point of additional approvers.

Agreed this should be a no-brainer, otherwise Viewpoint is redundant and we go back to using email to manage the submittals process

Has any progress been made on this? It seems like a no brainer to have sequential approval and an easy no brainer to make approvers required. That is, It can't move on to the next state until all the required approvers have approved. Same with Reviewers now that you have additional reviewers.

Agreed. When multiple engineers are required to provide a review, Viewpoint should allow a feature where is move from one reviewer to the next and allows for compounded mark-ups. This way you are not managing multiple PDF reviews from multiple engineers.

We have been promised a hierarchy for Submittal approvals for 3 years now and keep being told that it's "coming." Procore does this so Viewpoint should as well.
