By being able to submit multiple submittals as a package under (1) transmittal or package it provides the Design Team the ability to review and approve multiple submittals while still being able to provide tracking on individual submittals of the package. For example, submitting an electrical submittal package which includes individual submittals for conduit, switchgear, lighting, etc. The design team would receive one notification for the package and be able to mark the each individual submittal of the package accordingly based on their review. Conduit and switchgear could come back approved, but lighting could be responded to as revise and resubmit. It would simplify the submittal process as subcontractors typically submit their submittals as one package. As a GC, we need to build our submittal log based on the specs for tracking purposes and the submittal packages received from subcontractors include multiple spec sections. Rather than having to separate packages received from the subcontractors, the package could be grouped to include the multiple spec sections and sent to the design team. The design team would receive one notification and could mark the individual submittals within the overall package as they see fit based on their review. Upon return of the package, any submittals that need resubmitted could be done individually without having to resubmit the entire package.
