On projects where the architect won't use Viewpoint because they have their own submittal site, using TEAM is clunky. Because the Architect is not involved, when we go to "submit" we have to send it to ourselves to submit which marks us as the reviewer. This can be confusing for others involved and adds extra steps for us. If there was a "Mark as Submitted" for these projects, that would be preferable.

We're looking into how best to solve this - it's a common request for a number of different reasons - there's a number of situations that require customers to use Team more as an internal tracking/organization system than a collaboration system and we want to be able to support both use cases.
We have a Project as well that the Engineer is requiring us to use Newforma. They just use it as a file exchange with no real setup. I plan to use an Engineer Entity that I created for testing purposes that was set up on a Gmail account some time ago. This will help me track when it is past due from them. There is the additional step of uploading to Newforma but at least I will still be organized on TEAM.
Can't you change the state? Granted you can only do this by individual item - maybe a request to add the state change to the bulk action menu would be helpful?
