I’d like to submit a suggestion that the Project Editor be allowed to add/edit attachments and/or edit other data within a submittal once it has been “Closed”. I have a submittal that has already been through everyone’s hands but there was an error in the attachment I noticed after Releasing it which Closed the submittal and now I have no way of adding the correct attachment without deleting the submittal and starting the submittal process over again or creating a revision. The same issue would occur if I had forgot the attachment entirely.
Additional input from another PM on similar issue: Keep in mind the Architect or Engineer is not as schooled in the processes and errors will be made. The Project Editor should have the capability to correct errors even after closed. I had Engineer send back a submittal as approved when it was actually revise and resubmit. Only option I have at that point is to Release it. I could not change it to revise and resubmit so I had to release it with a note and create a new sbmtl instead of a resbmtl.
Similar to the File Revisions in Documents, I'd like to be able to generate revisions to attachments thereby retaining the history of a certain file while overwriting it with current info. This would eliminate having to keep multiple versions of the same file in the attachments or having to delete older attachments (to reduce confusion) while losing access that version of the file in the future.
