RFI auto numbering is duplicating RFI numbers. Below are my settings and the results.
Red #1 already existed, Red #2 was autogenerated duplicating the existing RFI number and it does not have any formatting like by Project and type.

Thanks Tom –
With the Auto-Number set to generate numbers by Project and Type it is possible to have the same number –but for different Types. That is what it looks like you have here.
#1 TYPE = Fabricator RFI , RFI# = 2
#2 TYPE = Request for Information, RFI# = 2
With the Type designation there can be two number 2’s – one for each Type.
========================================================================
I get it now that I have moved “Type” beside RFI# but if anyone but me logs into our demo environment some will not “get it” because there is no visual indicator that RFI#/Type is the key value. Is there any type of visual that can make this more apparent? Untrained users will see duplicate RFI#’s and are likely be confused as I was.
Might need to get the UI team to take a look.
Ideas:
Eventually this will have to be solved for any doc types like this with multiple keys or confusion will continue…
