Currently if we have a folder structure such as:
Folder A
Folder 1
Folder 2
Folder 3
Folder 4
Folder 5
If we add collaborators to Folder 2, they get an email saying Folder 2 has been shared with me and a link to that folder. I automatically get access to Folder A but not 1, 3, 4 or 5. This works perfectly.
Now we start adding files. We want to notify users that we've uploaded some files to that FOLDER as we don't want to send links to individuals files (since people tend to save links and not have to get a whole new link for every file).
When we use the new Share feature, we click on Folder 2 > Share. None of the collaborators that have access to Folder 2 are listed. Support has said that we must click on Folder A then share, however, that folder contains 5 other folders and the user wouldn't know into which folder the new files have been uploaded to. OR we must select the files within the folder we have shared in order to see the users listed properly.
Could the share feature work the same way as the adding of permissions to a folder email (ie have them look like attachment 1)?
