I just invited a user to TEAM but I cannot add them to a project, I'm assuming until they set up their user account. I need to be able to add them to a project even if their status is pending. Otherwise should I just check every day to see if their account has been set up so I can add them?

Yes, this in internal and it just failed on me again. I added a new user into TEAM who is a Vista user and then went to add them to the project. It can't find them.
If the status on the User Management page does not show Invitation Expired, then you should be able to add them to the project. If that does show, then click resend invitation and try adding them again.
There's also other complexities around what is needed for contacts appear in search. You should always be able to click the plus sign above the search bar on the add contacts page and enter the email address. Team Contacts will be searched after you stop typing or tab out of the field. If a match is found, then some contact info will populate. If it doesn't appear try erasing the last few letters of the email address and manually key them in. Copy and paste maybe adding some extra unseen characters.
Also note, if a contact is assigned to an item and their invitation expires, errors can occur if the item is attempted to be edited. The invitation will need to be resent to avoid the error.
For clarity this is an "internal" user being added from User Management?
*Note - this should be without having to add them in as a new user with their email address. ESPECIALLY if it's an internal ERP user.
