Provide the ability for PMs to review costs and update projections via a web interface in TEAM. The PM could review his/her job information (Orig Est, Actuals, etc.) and then ENTER updated projections. The updated information would flow back into Vista. This is in lieu of the PMs using PM Cost Projections. It's better because they could update many jobs at once time rather than a batch for each one, access it from anywhere, and have workflow for reviewing projections with supervisors prior to submitting.

Jim, sorry. My company uses the Spectrum/Team combination, so our team has access to both the PM and Accounting functions from any browser (two separate interfaces). Since we are newer to the system, I didn't catch that Vista was not browser based. So while I still have the opinion of keeping the line drawn, I can see where the suggestion could be useful in some situations.

Jeremy Yost... the concept of TEAM is to move PMs out of Vista (the accounting system) so they can access project information from any browser. As part of their job (to provide updated projections), I do think it belongs in TEAM as this is a great tool for presenting cost information and gathering the projections from remote users.

While I like the idea, the line has to be drawn somewhere, and having PM's log into the accounting side to perform projections is a way for them to also see the project financial status in more detail, and maybe to see something that is off. I like the overview that we currently have in Team, but all financial actions should be in the accounting system, not the PM system. My 2 cents.
I also don't like auto import of project budgets directly from estimating software for this exact reason also, make the PM's live in the numbers, not just hockey them around on the surface.
