This issue has progressed so much that users are not using TEAM anymore for file storage. If we have a Submittal with 4 shop drawings and need to review/edit EACH or we need to edit multiple files from Documents (including Excel or Project), it's very time consuming to download each file, then open them with File Explorer in the client application (for us it's Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Project etc). They then have to select them again and re-upload each time. It's very time consuming.
With SharePoint online, we can set a document library or list to always open with a Client Application (if available) or Online. This should either be an option on each screen or should be a setting on the user.
Since the online markups are already designed to work with Bluebeam, why can we not open drawings in our Bluebeam client and have it save back to TEAM?

I keep being told this is top priority. For the last year and a half with no progress.
Without this feature we will need to abandon using Team. Procore can do this and for a cloud hosted solution to provide a centralized storage space for documents without the ability to edit them is very outdated.
Not having the ability to do so actually defeats the purpose of file management and if anything makes it 10 times worse when you have to download a file to edit and then re-upload. Good luck getting Project Management and Supervisors using this without it.

I have to completely agree with Mercedes as this is an absolute must for our field teams. Having to download and re-upload when multiple other products already do this have caused several of our projects to create SharePoint sites due to the inability to edit docs. There should be a historical way to show edits made, by who and when, without having to individually download each file and re-upload it every time.
